If you’re a weed smoker, the description of a cannabis that reeks of cat urine or kitty litter, may raise your curiosity, or send you searching elsewhere for your elevated state of euphoria.

However, various trial runs have evaluated the vapor of this strain as actually having a sweet smelling bouquet similar to candy. It is considered by many, who value the final reward, to be worth the first whiff of pungent essence of skunk.

When Traditional Medicine Fails

Sometimes medical procedures like chemotherapy produce lingering nausea and vomiting episodes. This is one of the times when prescription medicines may not relieve the distress. Medical cannabis may be your alternative to bring relief. This may be your miracle herb as it also helps with other debilities:

  • chronic pain
  • migranes
  • insomnia
  • anxiety
  • cancer
In the future, this herb may be in your medicine cabinet. It may bring about hope in having the power to lessen suffering in serious diseases. Being able to function more productively and report back to your creativity, improves lifestyles. By instigating relaxation therapy, it could even help your body heal. A rested body soon rejuvenates and begins to mend and build up energy.

Prescribed or Recommended

The federal government classifies this substance as a schedule 1 drug. Illegal in many countries, a state licensed health care worker doesn’t have the power to prescribe this herb. However, in some instances, writing a recommendation for it is no problem. Once you have the legal paper you can buy it from a proper supplier.

THC and CBD

THC is a psychoactive ingredient in pot, and CBD is non-psychoactive. CBD is a substance that can’t be used to get high. This unique quality has a heightened interest in the field of medicine. In the future, some of the ingredients in marijuana may open a window to treat children with epilepsy. Because CBD has the potential to control the mind-altering activity of THC, it may be considered for treating schizophrenia and relieving anxiety.

Grow Your Own Supply

In some states, you may even grow your own weed garden to treat your maladies. Taking up to 9 weeks to flower, it is easily recognized by the long thin foliage. Your own back-yard pharmacy may be your way to a more painless and calming future.

What is Permafrost?

Many doctors prescribe different varieties of cannabis for medical patients, especially the chronically ill. Specific strains of cannabis have different medical purposes to them. One of the strains of medically used cannabis available today, is called Permafrost. It is generally recommended for use in the morning and afternoon. Permafrost is named for the frosty or frozen looking appearance of a layer of trichomes that are on its buds. This strain of cannabis comes from the interbreeding of two different, and very well known, strains of cannabis plants called “Trainwreck” and “White Widow”.

What Medical Uses Does it Have?

One of the top medical reasons that it is prescribed includes usage for the reduction of anxiety and depression, and the symptoms relating to them. Doctors also prescribe it to patients diagnosed with chronic illnesses like cancer due to its ability to increase appetites that are poor, and help with nausea that can be a side effect of chemotherapy. While some forms of cannabis leave patients having little energy, Permafrost has the opposite effect. Because this strain of cannabis is a sativa, its use often leaves patients who are prescribed it feeling motivated and ready to go. It helps only mildly with pain. For pain management, other strains of cannabis are considered better than Permafrost. This cannabis hybrid can be used for ADD/ADHD because of its ability to aid in focus and attention. It also has medical benefits that can help patients diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, gastrointestinal disorders, asthma, and arthritis.

Are There Any Side Effects?

The benefits of this strain of cannabis and its potential medical uses are numerous. However, this strain of cannabis does have potential side effects that patients should be aware of. Many experience excessive thirst or a feeling of “cotton mouth”, dry eyes, dizziness, and sometimes even headaches after smoking Permafrost. Sometimes because of the sense of over focus that can occur, certain people with paranoid tendencies might have those feeling exacerbated. Talk with your doctor if you have any questions concerning Permafrost’s medical uses, and to see if it is right for you.

On December 10, 2013, Uruguay became the first official nation to legalize the use of cannabis. Inhabitants of Uruguay are now allowed buy, smoke and store cannabis freely within the country. They are also allowed to grow up to six cannabis plants in their homes. This day certainly goes down as one of the most groundbreaking days in cannabis history.

The Beyond Prohibition Foundation is an independent and non-profit organization that advocates for a sensible and transparent marijuana policy worldwide. Uruguay is a great start of course, but there are still so many countries in which the cultivation and consumption of the cannabis plant is still prohibited. The Beyond Prohibition Foundation wants this to change. They believe it is important to stand together as much as possible to achieve that goal one day. Together we stand strong. A leading figure in this battle is Marc Emery, also known as the Canadian King of Pot.

In 1995 Marc Emery started retailing cannabis seeds in Canada for the cultivation of cannabis. Besides this successful business he was also extremely busy with his political pro-cannabis parties and the funding of pro-cannabis activist groups worldwide.

On July 2005 Marc Emery was arrested because he was considered a drug dealer, but after his arrest the US Drug Enforcement Administration confessed that the truth behind his arrest was his political activism and his funding of the pro-cannabis movement. The arrest of Marc Emery is a huge blow to the pro-cannabis movement. The Beyond Prohibition Foundation is collecting votes and gaining publicity to Free Marc Emery so he will be able to continue his battle to legalize cannabis.

Please brothers & sisters, we need to fight this!

Sending everyone lots of positive karma, peace, love and light,

~Ryan

With the American economy locked in uncertainty, many states are searching for another source of taxable revenue. For this reason, they’re turning to marijuana and legalizing it to revitalize they’re struggling economic structures. It took some legal maneuvering and assistance from Attorney, General Eric Holder, but Washington and Colorado have managed to legalize the use of recreational marijuana for adults. This epic decision has left many people wondering which states will be next to legalize the recreational use of pot and if the Federal Government will intervene.

The Next States to Legalize Marijuana

Though the possession and distribution of marijuana remains illegal on the federal level, many states are looking to follow Washington and Colorado’s lead. The state most likely to legalize the use of recreational marijuana is California. Many people assume that the use and distribution of marijuana is already legal in the Golden State but it’s not. In 2010, there was a statewide effort to legalize cannabis but it was defeated by a conservative movement.

Last month, California legislators filed the California Hemp Act of 2014 which would legalize marijuana within the entire state for recreational uses. 750,000 valid signatures from registered voters are needed to get the issue included on the 2014 ballot. An astounding 54% of California citizens are for the legalization of recreational marijuana where medicinal marijuana is already legal. One of California’s neighboring states, Nevada, is following suit. Nevada hopes to get legalization included as an issue on the 2016 ballot.

Oregon is the next most likely state to pass the legalization of medical marijuana after California. 57% of Oregon’s registered voters already support the decimalization of and taxation of marijuana and there are already plans in place to campaign to get the issue included on the 2014 ballot. If Oregon and California are successful in their efforts, the entire west coast will have legalized the recreational use of Marijuana.

Not all efforts to legalize marijuana have been out west though. On the East Coast, Maine and Massachusetts are attempting to legalize recreational marijuana. Nearly half of Maine’s citizens already support the legalization and taxation of cannabis and there is an effort in place to get the issue included on the 2016 ballot. In Massachusetts, there hasn’t been a concerted effort to get an amendment on the ballot but an amazing 58% of bay state’s residents are for the decriminalization of marijuana.

Marijuana is already the #1 cash crop in the United States but the government doesn’t receive a dime of that money. There are already states that have realized the earning potential of marijuana and they are ignoring federal law to better themselves.

What is Sativex?

Sativex is a cannabinoid that is extracted from cannabis plants that are specially cultivated to contain a consistent and stable amount of active ingredients. Sativex is now used primarily to treat Multiple Sclerosis patients. It comes in a flavored spray pump and is helpful in reducing the spasticity common with MS. Sativex is not recommended for pregnant women or breastfeeding women, or those with any history of psychiatric disorders. The most common side effects are dizziness or fatigue and depression or confusion.

Cannabis Brownie Recipe

First, the THC must be extracted into the oil that is used to make the brownies. This is done by simply grinding the marijuana into a powder and adding it and the oil to a sauté pan and simmering it for a few hours (2-6 recommended). Once the powder is incorporated into the oil, strain through a coffee filter to ensure all the excess marijuana is out, as the THC is now in the oil. A good rule of thumb is to use approximately half an ounce of marijuana for one batch, or box, of brownies. Now just use the cannabis oil extraction as you would the oil called for in the recipe.

Feds Should Back Off MMJ Laws

On June 24, Resolution No. 32 was unanimously approved by the United States Conference of Mayors. This resolution calls for federal laws to be amended to allow states sovereignty in enacting and enforcing marijuana laws without federal interference. In the interim, the USCM asks that the President intercede in this capacity to ensure that federal dollars aren’t squandered in efforts to undermine legitimate state policies and laws. Sponsors of this measure want federal policy to ultimately reflect the wishes of the majority of Americans regarding marijuana law.

Ventilating Your Grow Room

to-grow-weed-how-for-beginners

When learning how to grow your own weed, it is very very important that you make available space for grow room ventilation. Healthy Cannabis not only needs a fresh abundant supply of light, nutrients, and water, but it also needs AIR. Not only do your green ladies need fresh carbon dioxide, they also need to have proper ventiliation as to remove the excess oxygen in the enviornment.

The Answer: Get a fan!! Squirrel-cages or a simple housefan will do just fine to aerate your buds and ensure a sticky, frosty harvest!

Cooling off your grow area is essential. Cannabis is one cool plant. It HATES cold, bitter environments, and it also HATES the searing heat.

Regulating your growth environment may sound tough, but it is fairly easy. Simply adding a shade to your summer plants or a heater to winter plants is great, but not enough. There are hot & cool pockets of air floating everywhere in your grow location. By implementing proper ventilation strategies with full coverage, you are ensured a successful grow by evening out the air temperatures, making an optimum growth environment where your cannabis can thrive.

An easy way to regulate the humidity & climate in your marijuana grow room is to simply supply lots of air flow.

Cannabis flowers at optimum temperatures, and when amounts of CO2 and O2 are at regulated levels. Excess and/or lack in both these categories will cause vacillating growth.

So remember, keep your buds nice and fresh with an abundant air supply! Until next time,

PEACE!
