Blue Zushi has secured itself in the top ranks for 5 yrs now. I first purchased this in a tin around 2018, and have great memories of smoking it everyday throughout lockdown 2020, let’s fast forward to 2023. On the nose I was greeted by a fruity/sweet grapefruit and subtle floral and papaya aroma, accompanied by a light minty gas backend. The bud structure looks like a typical Zkittles, in historic batches the buds were soft, they are now more dense. They are light lime green with distinctive messy hydroponic hairs sitting amongst a universe of trichomes. Upon inhaling my mouth filled with a sweet grapefruit and slight papaya infusion, with a light minty gas backend. The taste unfortunately degrades quickly when exhaling and the first initial sweet taste abandons my tastebuds fairly fast becoming slightly harshly bitter. It smoked relatively smooth and clean. A solid oil ring stayed dripping throughout. In my opinion this once great tasting and enjoyable flower has lost itself along the years. I feel the strength has got stronger, but at a cost of losing the original Grape flavour. If the price is right, and nothing else around is better in Z terps; I would still repurchase. It’s a nice strain to do cocktails with. Hopefully it is brought back to what it used to be.
